Gold Collar Creative Atelier · Strategic communications
Communication isn't the problem.
It reveals the problem.
An independent studio practice founded by Angelique Payne, built to close the distance between what an organization intends and what its audiences actually experience.

01 — Gold Collar Creative Atelier
A practice built around a single question.
Gold Collar is a philosophy before it is a service. It holds that communication should be measured by what it changes, not by what it produces — and that the first act of any engagement is diagnosis, not production.
So every engagement opens the same way: Where's the Gap? Between what a brand means, what it says, and what people take away. Name that distance precisely and the rest of the work — story, system, sequence — has something true to answer to.
Make the good great.
02 — The Gold Collar Method
Five moves that turn a diagnosis into movement.
Discover
Interviews, immersion, and listening — before language.
Diagnose
Name the real gap. The one everyone else keeps stepping around.
Design
Build the story, the strategy, and the architecture together.
Activate
Bring it into the world at a pace that respects the audience.
Elevate
Measure, learn, and turn each cycle into compounding equity.
03 — Selected work
The evidence, organized by the gap it closed.
Where's the Gap?
Choose the distance you're working through and see how the practice approached it.

04 — About Angelique Payne
The strategist behind the practice.
I became fascinated by communication because of how unevenly it works — the same sentence builds trust in one room and erodes it in the next. That inconsistency isn't noise. It's the most useful information an organization has about itself.
Graduate research at USC Annenberg gave that curiosity a discipline; working across luxury beauty, operations, property, and marketing gave it range. Gold Collar is where both settled into one way of working.
05 — Résumé
Credentials, documented plainly.
Experience, education, skills, leadership, and speaking — kept separate from the story, for hiring, advisory, and speaking conversations.
06 — Work together
Start with the gap.
Tell me what your audiences seem to believe and what you meant them to. The first conversation is a diagnosis, not a pitch.
